Update November, 2009: this is depreceated and will not be maintained or updated by me anymore. If you know another solution feel free to tell me.
Last version: 0.1
This is a widget for displaying your photos on Flickr on your [Wordpress powered] blog.
I created it because I wanted a nice Flickr widget and I’ve found none. Except the one in which it is based, the pflickr v1.1. However there were some annoying bugs on it and was too limited. Like: just displayed the last n photos, asked the user for a key, etc. Sadly I managed to try to contact its developer to send a patch, but couldn’t reach him.
You’ll find it really easy to use and to adapt. If you improve it, please let me know. I’ll get your code and upgrade it asap, if of relevancy (that means: if you did a nice work, hard or not ;)).
Installation
Download the least release to your Plugins directory (ie., ~/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins), unzip it and go to Plugin Management and active the ‘Flickr sidebar for Wordpress’ plugin.
Usage
On the sidebar manager drop it where you want it to be and configure it. When enabled, the plugin will appear where you’ve put it. Use caching, as it’ll hurt Flickr if you doesn’t and it may suspend your host from digging data from there.
License
I don’t care, nor does the one who did the original widget. Other people may care. So, take care.
Do what ever you want with the widget. Note that the phpFlickr class (a dependency already included) is LGPL‘ed. Go wild.
Good luck. It’s not already fail-proven, but it’s usable.
